Nature, relaxation, comfort and healthy fun
Manor farm
The “Manor farm”, which has always been the property of the Ruggieri family, is the central body and the heart of the farm: within its rooms, with vaulted ceilings, wooden beams and furniture that belonged to the family, you can feel a typical “old-times” atmosphere; that warmth that makes you feel like “home”.
On the ground floor you will find: the reception, the dining room, a living room with TV and fireplace, a kitchen with wood oven and barbecue. Outside, a large terrace with panoramic views, where meals are served during summer months.
Pool
The pool enjoys a strategic position, overlooking a breathtaking view: a 360-degree view, embracing the hills that gently slope down to the sea. On the horizon you will see the promontory of Circeo, the Pontine Islands (Ponza, Ventotene, Palmarola, Santo Stefano), the island of Ischia, Naples with the top of Mount Vesuvius… The jacuzzi bathtub is covered with mosaic tiles that give the water a shiny appearance and is equipped with a seat. All around, a soft grass lawn where to lie down in the sun or under the umbrella, on chairs and loungers, while relaxing in the quiet of the countryside with the sea on the horizon!
Vegetable garden
Our vegetable garden is undoubtedly the most important part of our farm. Here we cultivate the delicacies that we harvest every day to be immediately cooked and served to our guests. Crop rotation is seasonal and follows a natural and biological cycle. Each season Valerio, the landlord, harvests personally tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, green beans, eggplants, lettuce, rocket, radicchio, radishes, peas, artichokes, cauliflowers, cabbages, pumpkins, broccoli … A corner of the vegetable garden is dedicated to the cultivation of herbs: rosemary, sage, thyme, parsley, celery, oregano … which are widely used in the preparation of our dishes.
But the landlord harvests also wild herbs. During the favourable season, Valerio personally accompanies his guests searching for these natural gifts: mushrooms, asparagus, chicory, borage, chard, wild garlic, fennel … and, after the harvest, which is also an excuse to enjoy a nice walk, they all gather in the kitchen to learn the techniques and the secrets to prepare them!
